Bakary Yaou Sangaré, Niger’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, called for decisive steps toward the establishment of a free, independent Palestinian state within its 1967 borders, while lamenting the ongoing crisis in Lebanon.
He criticized the global inaction on addressing the challenges of poor countries, accusing rich nations of exploiting their resources and supporting corrupt regimes.
He highlighted Niger’s use of domestic funds to tackle its own humanitarian crises, such as recent floods, rejecting foreign interference or lessons on democracy.
Sangaré praised the newly established Alliance of Sahel States, formed by Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, emphasizing its strategic integration in defense, diplomacy, and development, with plans to evolve into a federation.
He condemned Western powers, particularly France, for allegedly destabilizing the region by supporting terrorist groups and criticized Ukraine for supporting these hostile actions.
Sangaré reaffirmed Niger’s openness to partnerships with foreign investors based on mutual benefit and thanked countries such as Burkina Faso, Mali, Russia, China, and others for their support in Niger’s rebuilding efforts.
