In a strategic move to bolster his administration, President Bola Tinubu is set to officially welcome seven new ministers into his cabinet on November 4. This significant induction follows a recent cabinet reshuffle aimed at enhancing governance and addressing critical national issues. The new appointments, which cover key ministries such as Humanitarian Affairs, Labour, and Foreign Affairs, come after the Senate’s approval last week and signal the government’s commitment to tackling pressing challenges in Nigeria.
The induction ceremony is set to take place in the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja, as confirmed by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, via a post on X.
The newly appointed ministers reflect a diverse range of portfolios aimed at addressing key areas in governance. Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda will take charge of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, while Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi has been appointed as the Minister of Labour and Employment. Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu has been named Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Additional appointments include Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment; Idi Mukhtar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development; Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development; and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.
The Senate’s approval of these new ministers occurred last week, marking a critical step following a major cabinet reshuffle initiated by President Tinubu on October 23. This reshuffle saw ten ministers reassigned to new roles and the removal of five others, signaling the administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance governance and respond to the nation’s pressing challenges.
