Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, Catholic Priest and Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry in Enugu, has raised concerns about Nigeria’s rising cost of living, urging citizens to pray to prevent a potential famine crisis.
Speaking at the commissioning of “Blessed Omemma Oil and Gas Limited” in Enugu, he highlighted the need for the federal government to address surging fuel prices, which he believes contribute to widespread hunger.
Mbaka advised Nigerians to invest in productive ventures instead of keeping money in banks, warning that banked funds are losing value due to economic instability. He emphasized that the government knows the necessary steps to address the fuel price issue but called for prayers for the nation’s well-being.
At the event, Independent Petrol Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) Enugu chairman, Chinedu Anyaso, praised the station’s owner, Chief Mathias Ukaigwe, for creating jobs and improving local fuel access. He noted that the new station would enhance fuel availability in Enugu East, supporting both state and federal economies.
