Nottingham Forest, who have made a strong start to the Premier League this season and currently sit in 3rd place, have signed a pre-contract agreement with Fenerbahçe’s right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel.
The Super Eagles player’s contract with the Turkish club is set to expire this year. Jose Mourinho’s side has no plans to offer him a new deal, making the 27-year-old Nigerian defender’s return to England almost certain.
Bright Osayi-Samuel previously played for Queens Park Rangers before joining Fenerbahçe, where he made 168 appearances, scored 7 goals, and provided 14 assists.
The arrival of Bright Osayi-Samuel could mean the departure of another Nigerian defender, Ola Aina.
Aina joined Nottingham Forest on a free transfer from FC Torino and has since become an essential part of the team. He has expressed his desire to stay at the club, which could lead Nottingham Forest to offer him a new contract.
However, interest from clubs like Manchester City could change the player’s mind about his future.
