Ghanaian Young Centre-Back Terry Yegbe, Who Plays for IF Elfsborg, Attracts Interest from Premier League Side Brighton & Hove Albion
Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion has shown interest in Ghanaian centre-back Terry Yegbe, who currently plays for Swedish side IF Elfsborg. There had previously been reports that the player had impressed Brighton’s manager Fabian Hürzeler with his effective style of play.
Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen has once again brought this interest to light, providing further details on the matter. Speaking to the media after training on Friday, the player said:
“I’m just focusing on Elfsborg right now and that the team will get as high as possible in the league. I myself want to continue developing. I don’t know what will happen in the summer or the future.”
Terry Yegbe also stated that he hasn’t received any updates from his agent regarding interest from the Premier League club. Nevertheless, he expressed satisfaction with the rumours:
“Nothing yet, I’m just fully focused on Elfsborg now,” he said.
“If those kinds of teams are interested, it’s positive news of course. I haven’t heard anything yet, but it’s positive when big clubs want you.”
He added:
“I don’t really know. I’m just focusing on Elfsborg now and that I myself will continue to develop. I want to win matches and keep a clean sheet, for both the fans and myself.”
Yegbe joined the Swedish club in February 2024 and has made 44 appearances since then. According to recent reports, Elfsborg is demanding a transfer fee in the region of €6.5–6.9 million for the young defender.
