In the T20 series between India and South Africa, standout performances from Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma led India to a 135-run victory.
Samson scored 109 off 56 balls, while Varma hit 120 off 47 balls, taking India to a total of 283-1. This marked the first time two players from the same country scored over 100 runs each in a T20 international match.
South Africa, in response, managed to reach 148 runs off 18.2 overs, with Arshdeep Singh delivering an impressive 3-20 performance. Additionally, Varma became one of only five players in the world to score consecutive centuries in T20 internationals.
India’s 283-1 score was their second-highest in T20 internationals, following their record of 297-6 against Bangladesh.
The result handed the Proteas their heaviest defeat in T20 history, as they had slumped to 10-4 during their innings.
