South African President Cyril Ramaphosa stated that UN Security Council should be a “more representative and inclusive body.”
“Seventy-eight years after its establishment, the United Nations Security Council’s structure has seen little change. Africa, with its 1.4 billion people, continues to be excluded from key decision-making. This situation is unacceptable,” he stated.
“The Security Council has failed to meet its responsibility of maintaining international peace and security. Urgent reform is necessary.”
