Section 121 of the Constitution mandates that the governor submit the 2024 Appropriations Bill to the properly assembled House of Assembly. This has not yet happened.
Additionally, commissioners have been appointed by the governor without adhering to the correct procedures specified in Section 192(2) of the Constitution.
In addition, in violation of a court ruling and the Rivers State local government (Amendment) Law 2023, the governor has sworn in unelected officials to oversee local government districts.
The governor, according to the MPs, has disregarded court orders and has kept working with suspended members.
The assembly, led by Amawhule, requests that the governor order those posing as officials in his administration to desist from flaunting their positions and abide by the rulings of the courts and the Constitution.
