President William Ruto Condemns Attempted Assassination of Former US President Donald Trump
President Ruto of Kenya has strongly condemned the recent attempt on the life of former US President Donald Trump. In a statement, Ruto characterized the attack as a despicable act.
“I condemn in the strongest terms the cowardly attempt on the life of President Trump,” Ruto stated. “Such violence has no place in our world.”
He expressed solidarity with Trump and extended sympathy to him and the affected families.
“We stand with the United States in rejecting violence and upholding democratic principles,” Ruto affirmed.
President Ruto of Kenya has reacted to news of former US President Donald Trump surviving an assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday. Trump, who is campaigning for re-election, expressed shock at the incident, revealing that a bullet had pierced the upper part of his right ear.
“I was hit by a bullet that went through the upper part of my right ear… There was a lot of bleeding, so I realized what was happening. God bless America!” Trump stated.
The Secret Service responded swiftly, fatally shooting the male attacker at the rally. According to reports from the Secret Service, the assailant killed one attendee and critically wounded two others.
On Tuesday, Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni joined other world leaders in condemning the attempted assassination.
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni extended his condolences to former US President Donald Trump following the recent assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania. Museveni conveyed deep sympathies on behalf of Uganda, expressing solidarity with Trump and those affected by the violence.
The assailant, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was swiftly neutralized by the Secret Service after firing shots from a rooftop approximately 150 meters away from the rally venue.
“As advocates for freedom and peace, we strongly condemn political violence, which poses a threat to democracy wherever it occurs. My thoughts are with President Trump and all those injured, and I wish them a speedy recovery,” Museveni affirmed.
US President Joe Biden also condemned the attack, emphasizing that violence should never be a solution in American society.
“We must reject violence in all its forms. It has no place in our history or our future,” Biden emphasized in a video message to the American public.
