Liverpool and Mohamed Salah continue to maintain their top form.
In yesterday’s Champions League match, Salah scored a goal to secure his team’s victory. With this, Liverpool became the only team to go through the group stage with 7 wins out of 7 matches, without losing a single point.
Mohamed Salah has recorded 22 goals and 17 assists in 31 matches this season. With a total of 39 goal contributions, he is currently the player with the most goal involvements in Europe’s top five leagues.
Liverpool has now advanced to the last 16 of the Champions League. Additionally, with the goal he scored yesterday, Salah became the first player to score 50 European goals for his team.
Out of these goals, 44 were scored in the Champions League, 5 in the Europa League, and one in a Champions League qualifying match. As a result, Salah has further extended his record as Liverpool’s all-time top scorer in European competitions.
Now, Salah is chasing another record. Former Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero scored 23 goals at the Etihad Stadium, while former Manchester United forward Ruud van Nistelrooy scored 23 goals at Old Trafford.
Salah has currently scored 20 goals at Anfield. If he scores 4 more goals, he will become the player with the most European goals at a single stadium.
Salah’s contract is set to expire, and his future at Liverpool remains uncertain.
