Scan Global Logistics (SGL) has strengthened its East African presence by opening its first office in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, enhancing access to key markets and facilitating logistics solutions for landlocked countries. The move positions SGL to tap into Tanzania’s growing economy, particularly in agriculture, mining, and infrastructure.
The new office allows SGL to offer comprehensive services, including customs clearance and last-mile delivery, for businesses in Tanzania and neighboring countries such as Rwanda, Burundi, and Zambia. By establishing a physical presence in Dar Es Salaam, SGL aims to build stronger ties with local stakeholders, fostering collaboration across the region.
SGL’s entry into the Tanzanian market is a strategic move to meet increasing demand for logistics services in East Africa. With an expanding trade sector and infrastructure development, the company plans to provide flexible, end-to-end solutions tailored to local, regional, and global customer needs.
CEO Lars Syberg emphasized that this investment would enable SGL to strengthen its position in the region, accommodating growth and maintaining high service standards. Jan Andersson, appointed Managing Director of the new office, will lead efforts to meet customer demand and expand SGL’s footprint in Tanzania.
