Monaco defeated their opponents, Aston Villa, 1-0 in the Champions League thanks to a goal from Ivorian defender Wilfried Singo in the 8th minute.
After Emiliano Martinez saved Thilo Kehrer’s shot, he was helpless when Singo followed up and converted the rebound.
Aston Villa failed to deliver the expected performance, and Monaco goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki kept his goal intact. As the game progressed, Monaco found the back of the net again, but the goal was ruled out due to offside.
With this result, Monaco secured their progression to the next stage of the group, while Aston Villa missed a great opportunity to advance into the top 8.
Wilfried Singo, who is still only 24 years old, has become arguably the most crucial defensive player for Monaco, a strong team.
If he continues this level of performance, he could make a significant leap in his career and also provide Ivory Coast with a top-class defender for years to come.
