24-year-old South African rugby player Bernard van der Linde has transferred to the English club Bath.
The scrum-half, who played for the South African team Bulls, featured in his team’s Champions Cup matches last month and contributed to their third-place standing in the United Rugby Championship.
The contract between Bath and Bernard van der Linde will run until 2027.
Bath’s head of rugby, Johann van Graan, commented on the transfer, saying:
“I saw him play as a junior and he impressed me then, both on and off the field.”
“On the field, he is a running nine and loves the physical part of the game. Off the field, he is diligent and loves the game of rugby.”
Bath, currently leading the English Premiership, had already signed Dan Frost from Exeter Chiefs a few days ago.
With Van der Linde’s arrival, the team has become even stronger.
