Sudan and Iran have agreed to enhance their cooperation on regional and international matters, focusing on economic collaboration and diplomatic coordination. The decision follows a meeting between Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Yusuf and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, aimed at deepening bilateral relations.
The two nations plan to boost trade and economic partnerships, with a ministerial committee set to convene in the coming months. A business forum will also be organized to connect companies and investors from both countries. Additionally, Iran is expected to contribute to Sudan’s post-war reconstruction efforts.
As part of their diplomatic engagements, Yusuf and Araghchi signed an agreement granting visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic, special, and official passports. Another memorandum was signed to establish a political consultation committee between their foreign ministries.
During his visit to Tehran, Yusuf also met with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf to discuss further cooperation. The meeting comes as Sudan continues to face challenges from its ongoing conflict, which has resulted in significant casualties and displacement.
