Sudanese Energy Minister Mohi El-Din Naeem Mohamed recently concluded a visit to Russia, where he met with Russian counterpart Sergey Tsivilev to explore opportunities for deepening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. The two officials discussed various potential joint projects in oil and gas, including exploration, production, and fuel supply, as well as power generation infrastructure.
Russia expressed strong interest in investing in Sudan’s oil exploration and production, with an emphasis on expanding fuel supply and energy infrastructure development. During the visit, a Sudanese technical delegation also presented several investment opportunities to Russian companies, including Legacy Capital, which showed a keen interest in participating in Sudan’s energy sector.
The technical delegation is set to continue its engagement with Russian state-owned energy companies to negotiate specific deals in the coming weeks. Additionally, representatives from Sudan’s national oil company held discussions with Gazprom regarding fuel supplies. The Sudanese ambassador to Russia also took part in these important meetings.
The visit concluded with plans for continued collaboration, with the Sudanese delegation instructed to pursue further talks with Russian companies to finalize agreements that will bolster Sudan’s oil and energy sectors.
