Stephen Sunny, who spent the majority of his career in La Liga playing for clubs such as Valencia, Real Betis, and Osasuna, has started supporting vulnerable children and widows in Lagos, Nigeria.
According to Soccernet.ng, the Nigerian footballer’s Sunday Stephen Miram Orphanage Foundation donated 15-kilogram bags of food to widows at the Mountain of Fire Ministry, Region 31, in Berger.
The player initially decided to begin his international career with Spain but later switched his allegiance to the Nigerian national team.
Throughout his career, Stephen transferred to several clubs and achieved significant success, including winning the Copa del Rey with Valencia in 2008. However, he faced challenges due to injuries and ultimately retired from professional football in 2020.
Regarding the recent charitable efforts, Stephen made the following statements:
“Our goal is to restore hope, dignity, and opportunities for a brighter future.”
“Today’s event marks yet another occasion where we are distributing rice as an end-of-year gesture of goodwill to families in need, ensuring the widows in our community can enjoy the yuletide season.”
“Our mission at the orphanage is to provide a safe, loving, and supportive environment for orphans, widows, and vulnerable children, helping them grow emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Through our work, we strive to restore hope, dignity, and opportunities for a brighter future.”
