Young Togolese forward, Kevin Denkey, currently playing for Cercle Brugge, has garnered interest from MLS.
The 23-year-old striker has been in excellent form recently, drawing the attention of major French league clubs, including AS Monaco and OSC Lille. In fact, some in the media were already viewing his potential move to Lille as almost certain.
Cercle Brugge’s management now aims to secure a profitable deal for the player, and they have granted Denkey permission to negotiate potential transfers.
Recent reports, however, indicate that interest in Denkey extends beyond the French league. MLS side FC Cincinnati has reportedly submitted a formal offer to acquire the player.
While the agreement is not yet finalized, sources suggest that the MLS club has put forward an offer exceeding €15 million.
Denkey has yet to agree on personal terms with FC Cincinnati, and Cercle Brugge is reportedly keen on retaining their star striker until the end of the season.
Denkey has proven his worth in the Belgian league, netting 7 goals and providing 1 assist in 12 matches this season.
He is one of Cercle Brugge’s most valuable players, and the Belgian side is reluctant to release him before they find an adequate replacement.
