The crater is located 2200 meters above sea level and measures more than 16km in diameter with an area of approximately 265 km2: it is the largest caldera in the world. Another unique feature of the Ngorongoro Reserve is that the Masai tribe can live there and move freely within the park, which is not the case in any other park in Tanzania.
