Tunisian Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, met with Palestinian Minister of Industry, Arafat Asfour, on Wednesday in Tunis to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and expand economic ties between the two nations.
The meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy, highlighted the deep-rooted relationship between Tunisia and Palestine, with both ministers expressing a commitment to furthering these longstanding diplomatic and economic ties. According to a statement from Tunisia’s Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy, the two sides acknowledged the importance of strengthening their collaboration in various sectors to support sustainable growth and development.
Among the key areas identified for future cooperation were the agri-food industry and trade. Minister Chiboub emphasized Tunisia’s diverse industrial landscape, which spans various sectors, including manufacturing, technology, and agriculture. She conveyed Tunisia’s willingness to work closely with Palestine to foster connections and establish strategic partnerships that would benefit both countries in the long term.
In response, Minister Asfour expressed Palestine’s desire to deepen its ties with Tunisia through the establishment of a strategic partnership. He noted that this collaboration would involve developing joint projects focused on economic growth and shared prosperity. Asfour also reiterated Palestine’s commitment to building stronger ties with Tunisia in a range of sectors, including agriculture, trade, and industry, with a view to achieving mutual goals in the future.
The meeting concluded with both ministers agreeing to continue discussions and pursue practical steps to strengthen bilateral cooperation and foster closer economic, industrial, and trade relations between Tunisia and Palestine.
