Premier League giant Manchester United is closely monitoring Nigerian national team striker Victor Boniface, who is reminiscing about his former days.
The 23-year-old forward has scored six goals in nine matches this season, successfully continuing his impressive performance from the Belgian league to the Bundesliga. The Super Eagles player’s market value has reached €40 million, having achieved an astounding record of 21 goals and 10 assists in 34 matches last season.
With several suitors already eyeing the player for the upcoming transfer window, Leverkusen may struggle to keep him. The Red Devils, facing problems in front of goal, are one of the most eager clubs for this transfer. Last year, they attempted to address their deficiencies with Atalanta’s forward Rasmus Hojlund, but the Danish player managed to score only ten goals.
However, Manchester United is not the only major club insistent on this transfer. Chelsea, also interested in his compatriot and namesake Victor Osimhen, may step in for Leverkusen’s star player.
Leverkusen has set the player’s price at €80 million, which is not a significant issue for either club. Nevertheless, convincing the player may not be that easy. Boniface has expressed a strong desire to play in La Liga, and if clubs like Barcelona or Atlético Madrid get involved, he may prefer to join one of those teams.
