In Uganda, authorities have detained a man found in possession of 24 human skulls, which they suspect may have been used in ritual sacrifices.
The individual will face charges under the Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice Act, with a potential life sentence if convicted.
Alongside the skulls, police discovered animal remains and skins at his shrine located on the outskirts of Kampala. The search for additional human remains is ongoing.
The suspect, who claims to be a traditional healer and herbalist, is being distanced from by the Traditional Healers’ Association in Uganda.
This troubling case is part of a disturbing trend, following a similar recent discovery where 17 human skulls were found in the central district of Mpigi.
Both cases are believed to be connected to ritualistic practices, reflecting a troubling belief in some communities that human body parts can bring good fortune or be used to curse others.
