The 12th edition of the World Industry Forum (WIC Forum), held in Istanbul on February 12-13, highlighted the growing trade relationship between Turkey and Africa, which has reached $37 billion. Themed “Strong Collaboration with Africa, Sustainable Future,” the forum brought together Turkish manufacturers and African business leaders to explore new partnership opportunities. Turkish Deputy Minister of Trade Sezai Uçarmak highlighted the continent’s vast resources and population, highlighting the potential for even greater trade.
The event showcased Turkish products and technologies, and encouraged discussions between manufacturers and African entrepreneurs on potential partnerships. Participants expressed optimism that continued cooperation will foster mutual growth, with many seeing Türkiye’s advanced technology as key to accelerating Africa’s development.
Business leaders from countries including Ivory Coast, Sudan and Benin shared their pursuit of partnerships in sectors such as agriculture, construction and textiles. The forum aimed to connect producers directly with buyers, eliminate middlemen and strengthen economic ties between Türkiye and Africa.
