The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has reported the successful realization of US$6 million from agreements made during last year’s trade mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), out of a total of US$13.80 million secured. In response to this success, the agency has announced the launch of a new trade mission to the DRC, which will feature a delegation of 40 Zambian companies.
According to Kwali Mfuni, ZDA’s head of communications and public relations, the upcoming trade mission will take place in Lubumbashi, Haut-Katanga Province, from October 16 to October 18. The primary goal of this mission is to promote Zambia’s non-traditional exports (NTEs) and secure greater market access for Zambian products.
The trade mission will kick off with an opening session attended by key representatives from the Congolese government and industry stakeholders. Following this, participants will engage in exhibitions and business-to-business meetings with potential buyers from the DRC, facilitated through a well-coordinated matchmaking process tailored to the companies involved.
The ZDA aims to strengthen and expand Zambia’s presence in the Congolese market, further enhancing bilateral trade relations between the two nations.
