The Zanzibar government has announced the launch of a blockchain sandbox program. The aim of this program is to enhance entrepreneurship and technological advancements.
Designed by Ledgerfi IT, the program is supported by the Xinfin XDC network. This sandbox program seeks to facilitate fintech startups, similar to the initiative in Tanzania. Both programs aim to reduce risks and encourage investment.
According to a report, the archipelago’s government is now inviting interested startups to join the sandbox. Priority will be given to entrepreneurs offering digital solutions such as financial inclusion. Innovators will have the opportunity to receive mentorship from pioneers and leaders in their sectors.
Zanzibar e-Government Authority Director General Seif Said made a statement regarding this initiative: “Our primary goal is to create a supportive environment for the development of cutting-edge technologies, including blockchain, AI, and other emerging fields.”
