Craig Young put pressure on Zimbabwe with his effective bowling, taking four wickets. However, Zimbabwe responded strongly. Munyonga scored an unbeaten 43 runs and led his team to victory.
Ireland lost their captain Paul Stirling on the last ball of the first over. Harry Tector was dismissed for 28 runs in the seventh over, and Lorcan Tucker helped take Ireland close to a hundred. However, Tucker was caught by Brian Bennett for 46 runs in the 13th over.
The match seemed to be progressing in Ireland’s favor, but in the last three overs, Zimbabwe took quick wickets as George Dockrell, Neil Rock, Gareth Delany, and Graham Hume were dismissed. Ireland ended their innings at 137-8.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, found solid scores from Munyonga (43), Ryan Burl (27), and Sikandar Raza (22), completing the match with a lead.
