Zimbabwe, who won the opening match on Friday by 49 runs, lost this time against Ireland.
Despite Wesley Madhevere (61) and Sikandar Raza’s (58) 74-run partnership for the fourth wicket, Zimbabwe lost all their wickets at 245 runs in 49 overs.
On the Irish side, Paul Stirling (89) and Curtis Campher (63) established a dominant 144-run partnership, giving Ireland a strong advantage. Campher also delivered an impressive bowling performance, taking 3 wickets for just 13 runs.
Winning the toss, Ireland chose to field first. Zimbabwe initially recovered well from 73-3, thanks to the efforts of Madhevere and Sikandar Raza. However, Campher’s outstanding performance turned the game in Ireland’s favor. He trapped Madhevere and then took two wickets in consecutive balls, shifting the momentum.
Although Zimbabwe tried to respond through Sikandar Raza, the team collapsed from 157-6 to 245 all out in 48.4 overs. Mark Adair contributed significantly with a bowling figure of 4-54.
For Ireland, Andrew Balbirnie was dismissed for 11 runs, but Stirling and Campher carried the team to 171-1. Later, Lorcan Tucker and George Dockrell helped secure the victory.
With this result, the series is now tied at 1-1. The final match of the series will take place tomorrow, where the winner will claim the series victory.
