One hundred military police officers from the Rwanda Defense Force (RDF) have finished a demanding six-week training course, held in partnership with the Qatar Armed Forces.
Hosted at Rwanda Military Academy GAKO, the training emphasized crucial skills including counterterrorism, VIP protection, and riot control.
This collaborative effort highlights the strong alliance between Qatar and Rwanda and their mutual commitment to strengthening security capabilities.
The training program equipped RDF members with advanced techniques to address new security challenges, protect high-profile individuals, and manage emergency situations, aiming to enhance overall security and stability in Rwanda and beyond.
At the graduation ceremony, Gen. Mubarakh Muganga, RDF Chief of Defence Staff, commended the graduates for their dedication and discipline. He recognized the importance of the skills acquired and thanked the Qatar Armed Forces for their support and cooperation.
“I congratulate you on achieving this milestone. The skills you have gained will enhance your effectiveness in your roles. I also appreciate the Qatar Armed Forces for their contribution. Our partnership has trained over four hundred personnel in Qatar and Rwanda over the past four years,” he said.
Capt. Abdulla Al-Marri, the chief trainer from Qatar, praised the RDF for fostering strong ties between the two countries through such collaborative training efforts. He noted that the acquired skills will significantly improve the RDF military police’s performance in VIP protection, counterterrorism, and riot management.
The ceremony was attended by RDF Generals, senior and junior officers, and a delegation from the Qatar Armed Forces.
